We remind you that the director of the NYSC, Sulaiman Kazaure, said on Monday, April 23, 2018, that the increase in membership compensation will be determined by the new national minimum wage of the federal government.
Kazaure raised this question following the swearing in of the 2018 Charge A Corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kusalla, Karaye’s Local Government Area in the state of Kano.
He said, “Our efforts to increase the monthly compensation of Corps members have achieved a very good result after a series of discussions with Minister of Labor and Productivity Chris Ngige.
“The N18,800 paid to Corps members is completely inadequate to meet their needs during the compulsory one-year service to the nation.
The 2018 Batch A Stream 1 Corps members will complete their orientation course on Wednesday, May 9, 2018.
